A Brownsville Landscaping Company that draws before it digs.
Brownsville Signature Landscapes is a Brownsville landscaping company run by Mateo Garza, who has spent more than 20 years designing and planting yards across the Rio Grande Valley, from resaca lots to the Island.

Designers and planters, on the same crew.
Honestly, Mateo spent his first years in landscaping fixing other people's plans. A designer would draw something lovely, a different crew would plant it, and six months later half of it was dead because nobody checked where the noon sun hit or where the water sat after rain. So when he started his own company, he kept the drawing and the digging together.
Today we run 4 crews, about 14 people: three install crews and one that handles lawn care and commercial grounds. Our crews speak English and Spanish, and the lead who starts your job is the one who finishes it. We've designed or installed more than 650 yards and commercial sites in Cameron County, and we plant or trim around 1,900 palms a year.
As a landscaping company in Brownsville, we work across the city and the towns around it, from Rancho Viejo to South Padre Island. Every job follows the same five-step process, ending with a 30-day plant check. Then we come back.

Mateo Garza on plants that survive the Valley
Everybody wants the queen palm and the big green lawn. I get it, they look great in the nursery lot. But I've pulled out too many dead ones after a freeze. I'd rather plant you a yard that looks just as good and is still alive in five years.
Mateo grew up in Brownsville, started on a resort grounds crew on South Padre Island at 19 and later ran installation crews for a Valley nursery. He draws every plan himself and still shows up on planting day.
What our Brownsville landscaping company does on every yard
Plant for August
We choose plants for the hottest month, not the nicest one. Natives and tough adapted plants first, tender tropicals only where they're sheltered.
Water where the roots are
Drip for beds, rotors and sprays only for grass, and a controller set for the season. Half of wasted yard water is spray landing in the wrong place.
The estimate is the estimate
Written and itemized before we start. If you want to change something mid-job, we price it in writing first.
We come back
A month after every install we check each plant and fix what's struggling, at no charge.
